About
Our History
Almost as old as the United States, Paden City’s first settler was Revolutionary War veteran Obediah Paden. Rich in clay, sand, and natural gas, the area became a hub of glass and pottery manufacturing, employing hundreds of people and shipping products across the country by 1916.

While the glass bubble burst for the community in the 1990s, Paden City is still home to the Paul Wissmach Glass Company, specializing in stained glass, and Marble King, America’s only marble manufacturer.

In addition to a convenient location near major forms of transportation, Paden City has multiple properties ideal for manufacturing, production, order fulfillment, education, retail, and so much more.

About
Paden City Development Authority
In 1989 the Paden City government, recognizing the opportunity the city’s various structures presented, passed an ordinance to form the Paden City Development Authority (PCDA). This ordinance empowers the PCDA to purchase, lease, and sell property to create opportunities for new businesses while providing support for existing ones.

Over the last three decades, the PCDA has created a positive revenue stream through the acquisition, sale, renting, and leasing of properties. Through donations and grants, the group has also provided remediation, renovation and maintained the properties – protecting these important economic assets.
“The Development Authority's main goal is to maintain the workforce we have and create new jobs for continued growth through responsible property management.” — Cork Bowen
